At the end of this month my students and their families are invited to a Salon; an informal gathering of friends and students to discuss, show off, and eat good food.
The topic for this Salon is Beethoven: the Great Bridge.
Anyone who has studied a piece by Beethoven is encouraged to play it that evening. If you have another piece you'd like to share, feel free to bring that as well.
Potluck snacks will be served so bring your favorite finger food. Wine for Mom's and Dad's to enjoy will also be available. We will meet in the Red Sea lounge (7535 N. Chicago)
Come ready to discuss your favorite facts about Beethoven, his life, and his impact on music today.

December Recital
I'm so proud of my students and the progress they have made this year. Each one of them is an individual of great talent and it is truly awesome to see what they can do in a year or a few months! While not every student was present, these brave 10 got in front of an audience, faced their fears and their nerves and pulled off some great performances. The music was followed by some good food and hanging out in the Red Sea Lounge.
I also announced that February 2008 would be the month of Beethoven, we'll have an optional, evening salon to discuss Beethoven's role in the transition to the romantic era, and the role his music and life still plays today. Date TBA.
New Website
Just a quick note that my studio website is now up and running at www.conantpiano.com. Please check back for free music downloads, resources, and pictures.

Future Blogsite
Thanks for visiting my blog. The future site for content, lessons, and discussion between piano students passionate to learn and grow in their artistic development.
Things to look forward to...
Content: downloadable sheet music, your orginal recordings posted as mp3s
Lessons: got a music theory question? Take an online refresher course in music theory.
Discussion: what does it take to practice well? How can I practice more efficiently? Are their any great songs out there that I'm missing? How can I keep my young student motivated? What are your favorite composers? We'll post our ideas and keep a conversation going regarding piano and piano lessons.
Please check back in the next weeks for an updated piano blog site!
Thanks,
Nathan
